I think you new home will be great. I can only relate to your experience. We did the same thing. We built our home ourselves....from the ground up. It was the best thing we did. It was a challenge, growing/learning, and getting to really know each other experience. We would do it again, except that the youth has gone and we are older now and do not have the energy we once had. I have a little word of caution for you. It looks like you are in the country...well so are we. Just be aware of the little critters that will be coming into you new home. Get those mouse traps ready and you will see more of those snakes(yikes). I have them too, but have gotten used to seeing them. Good luck and enjoy your new home...it is beautiful. I like the extra windows to let the sunlight in and you should have wonderful views from the rear of your home. The front door area is "way cool."
